We had an opportunity recently to meet a couple who wanted to move from North Jersey to Ocean County and enjoy their retirement in one of our 55+ communities. For the past 18 years they have lived in a contemporary condominium and feel most comfortable where the exterior maintenance is provided by the association. There are many 55+ communities which are condo style, in difference to fee simple homeownership, and offer exceptional services to their residents.

The Pavillions inBrick, Four Seasons and the Fairways in Lakewood are 3 communities which have single, free standing homes, owned fee simple and attached units, owned as condominiums. The exterior of the condo buildings are maintained by the association including the roof, siding, driveway, sprinkler systems and lawn service, mowing and snow removal. Door and window replacement are the owners’ responsibility.

The Leisure Villages– Original, Route 70 in Lakewood, West, Route 70 or Route 37 in Manchester and East in Lakewood also offer attached houses with condo amenities. A host of interior services are also provided, including light bulb changing if the resident is unable to do it themselves.

In Whiting, coops are available where exterior maintenance is provided as well as costs of insurance and taxes are included with association fees.
